🚀How do I send a file?
Tap Create Room on the home screen. Share the 5-character room code or QR code with the other person. Once they join, tap the 📎 button in chat, select your file, and hit send.
📥How do I receive a file?
Get the 5-character room code from the sender. Type it in the Enter Code tab and tap Join — or scan their QR code with the Scan QR tab.
📷How does QR code scanning work?
The host taps Create Room — a QR code appears. The guest goes to Scan QR and points their camera at it. Connection starts automatically. Allow camera access if prompted.
🌐Does it work across different networks?
Yes. Yunze uses WebRTC with PeerJS relay, which handles NAT and firewalls automatically. Works between WiFi and 4G/5G, or across different countries — as long as both devices have internet.
📦Is there a file size limit?
No file size limit for P2P transfers. Large files are sent in chunks automatically. Speed depends on the slower of the two internet connections, not our servers.
🔒Are my files stored on your servers?
No. Files transfer directly between devices (peer-to-peer) and are never stored on Yunze servers. The optional Upload & Get Link feature uses gofile.io for one-way sharing.
⚠️Connection failed — what do I do?
1) Check both devices have internet. 2) Refresh and create a new room. 3) Disable VPN if active. 4) Try Chrome or Edge. 5) Some corporate/school networks block WebRTC — try mobile data.
🐢Transfer is slow — how to speed it up?
Speed depends on the slower connection. Try: move closer to your router, switch to WiFi from 4G, close other bandwidth-heavy apps, or compress large files into a .zip before sending.
⚙️What is the PeerJS server error?
It means the relay server is temporarily unreachable. Wait a few seconds and refresh the page. If it continues, try a different network (WiFi ↔ mobile data).
📱Which devices and browsers are supported?
Any device with a modern browser — Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux. Recommended: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (iOS 15.4+). Camera permission required for QR scanning.
💬Can I send messages without files?
Yes. Once connected, type messages in the chat bar and send freely. Messages are also peer-to-peer and not stored anywhere.
🔗What is Upload & Get Link?
An alternative for when both devices can't be online simultaneously. Your file is uploaded to gofile.io and you get a shareable download link. Note: gofile.io may delete files after inactivity.
📲Can I install it as an app?
Yes! It's a PWA. On Android: browser menu → Add to Home Screen. On iOS Safari: Share button → Add to Home Screen. Works like a native app.
👥How many people can connect at once?
Currently one-to-one (2 devices per room). You become the host, the other person is the guest.
💰Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no subscription, no fees.
